Tall Poppy Wines has lofty ambitions. It owns 4.5ha each of shiraz and viognier, but is able to draw upon grapes sourced from 170ha of vineyards owned by its directors, with a volume potential of 300 000-400 000 dozen aimed at the export market (the UK, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, NZ and Philippines). -JAMES HALLIDAY
