Our Review
In the beautiful Ovens Valley at the base of Mount Buffalo lies Alpine Angus, a cattle farm that is also home to a 4ha vineyard. The farm’s wine brand, Kilnhouse, takes its name from the original tobacco pickers huts on the farm, a reminder when tobacco growing was once a major agricultural industry in the Alpine Valleys. Originally planted in 2000 to verdehlo and semillon and sold as grapes to wine producers, the vineyard was subsequently grafted to prosecco, vermentino and tempranillo between '14 and '18. The wines are made by Jo Marsh at Billy Button Wines.
