Tassell Park Wines

Ian and Tricia Tassell have neatly covered all the bases with their estate plantings of sauvignon blanc, chenin blanc, chardonnay, semillon, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot and merlot, and have had consistent success with their wines in wine show, magazine and book medals and awards. What was intended to be a retirement hobby has become anything but, as they assiduously enter or submit their wines to all and sundry. While Sauvignon Blanc has been their forté, they received gold medals for both the '07 Cabernet Sauvignon and the '07 Private Bin Cabernet Sauvignon at the Sydney Wine Show '09, one of the toughest forums. In the local category of the WA Wine Industry Awards in Nov '09, Tassell Park won the Best Estate Grown White and Best Estate Grown Red Awards. Here the winning wines were '08 Chardonnay (their first chardonnay) and '07 Private Bin Shiraz. Each year they are able to announce a string of silver and bronze medals won at a large number of shows, interspersed with some gold medals and trophies. -JAMES HALLIDAY
