Tyson Stelzer is hosting a luxurious weekend of wine at Tower Lodge in the Hunter Valley for the inaugual European Wine Weekend. Tyson will bring along 25 of his favourite wines from France, Italy, Spain and Germany for a weekend of gourmet food and outstanding wine. Taking place from July 21–23, the European Wine Weekend has been designed for just 24 guests.
Guests will start the weekend with a glass of vintage Champagne, before a lunch expertly paired with German riesling and Spanish red wines. In the evening, guests can relax over a cocktail dinner, which will showcase Italy's finest sparkling, white and red wines.
On Saturday, guests will enjoy a casual lunch inspired by German and Spanish cuisines matched to premium wines.
After lunch Tyson will host a prestige masterclass where guests will taste six of Champagne's most famed cuvées: Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 2008, Louis Roederer Cristal 2013, Pol Roger Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill 2013, Dom Perignon Vintage 2008, Egly-Ouriet Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs Vieilles Vignes NV (Base 2010), and Bollinger R.D. 2007.
The exclusive weekend will come to a close with the highly anticipated gala dinner. Guests will socialise over apéritifs at twilight, while taking in the views of the vineyards, before settling into a French-inspired degustation dinner at the Tower Lodge restaurant. The degustation will be paired to some of the greatest wines from France, including Champagne, white and red Burgundy, and Sauternes.
Tower Lodge is a luxurious retreat with a long winemaking history in the Hunter Valley. Originally founded by Len Evans AO OBE, the intimate lodge underwent a six million dollar refurbishment in 2019 – led by owners Michael and Karen Hope.
Rates are twin share for two nights at Tower Lodge, and includes all meals, wines, signature experiences and mini-bar. All inclusive bookings start from $7900 per suite.

Indulge your senses at a casual German and Spanish inspired lunch prepared by the team at Sebastian restaurant.2:00–6.00pm: Enjoy the afternoon exploring Tower Lodge at your leisure. Relax, recharge and enjoy some downtime.
From 6.00pm: Stroll through the hacienda-style courtyard to Sebastian for an Italian-inspired cocktail dinner.
Saturday July 22
7.30–9.00am: Breakfast at your leisure.9.00am–12:00pm: You’ll have more time to enjoy the beauty of Tower Lodge and the Hunter Valley. Grab a mountain bike and explore the stunning region, try your hand at archery on the Tower Lodge grounds or relax in your luxurious suite.
12.00–2.00pm: Enjoy a casual German and Spanish inspired lunch.
3.00–4.30pm: Expand your knowledge at Tyson’s prestige Champagne master class, the ultimate opportunity to discover some of Champagne’s most lauded prestige cuvées in an interactive experience with one of the world’s Champagne authorities.
From 6.00pm: The gala dinner is the crescendo of this exclusive weekend. Enjoy an apéritif before settling into a French-inspired dinner at Sebastian.
