Brokenwood won the 2026 Halliday Wine Companion Winery of the Year award on the merit of its top-class wines alone. The team here manages to consistently produce wines of exceptional quality – sourcing fruit from its home in the Hunter Valley as well as further afield – across a wide range of price points.
But there’s a lot more going on here beyond crafting top-tier wines. Drop by this Hunter Valley winery any day of the week and you’ll have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of experiences – more than any wine lover could possibly squeeze into one day.
Here, the team offers up your usual wine tasting experiences at its cellar door – letting you sample seven wines from its vast portfolio for just $25 per person. Prefer to sip and snack? Your best bet will be the $75 Match Experience, which sees the team pair six wines with bite-sized canapés.
Those seeking long lazy lunches and dinners can book a table at either the Terrace Wine Bar or The Wood Restaurant. Executive Chef Sean Townsend has curated these menus, heroing local and seasonal produce with synergy flowing between plate and glass.
This is best represented in the Cellar to Table Experience, where guests get a personal tour of the winery and barrel hall – including the opportunity to try wines straight from the barrels – followed by a lunch paired with wines at The Wood Restaurant.
The Soil to Cellar is also available to anyone seeking to truly treat themselves. The crew kicks this four-hour experience off by giving guests three oysters paired with Brokenwood Semillon – an absolute treat. You'll then get a personalised winery and vineyard tour, which is followed up by a four-course degustation lunch featuring award-winning Brokenwood wines, including the Graveyard Vineyard Shiraz. You’ll even receive your own bottle of this iconic wine to take home.
Underpinning all of the experiences is Brokenwood’s simple belief that everyone should enjoy great wine and have fun in a relaxed atmosphere. No stuffy tastings here. No need to seem an expert if you're not. Just visit to enjoy spectacular food and wine served by friendly and knowledgeable staff. And if you are down for learning more about wine and Brokenwood itself, the team is more than keen to nerd out with you. What else could you ask for?
Head to the Brokenwood website to find out more about these experiences and to book your spot before the summer rush.
