Our Review
Fresh from a stint in Ballarat, Jean Désiré Féraud established Monte Christo way back in 1864; a true pioneer of the Central Otago wine industry. The current custodians are Stanley and Catherine Paris along with Stanley’s sons, Alan Paris and Nicholas Paris MW. The old winery has been restored and Monte Christo produces a range of wines from the Alexandra Basin, Bannockburn and Pisa subregions. Karl Coombes is in charge of the winemaking and the wines show clear sub-regional transparency and fine lines. -DAVE BROOKES

Set amongst parklike grounds, our fully self-contained cottages are a stone’s throw from the cellar door and food trailer, providing guests with everything they need to enjoy Monte Christo and the surrounding region.
