Charlish & Co

Charlish & Co is a collaborative effort between real-time partners of 2 decades, chef Rebecca Stubbs and Duane Coates MW, serving as a symbiosis of culinary nous and artisanal winemaking. Stubbs’ experience incorporates work in Tokyo, Shanghai and Singapore, as well as her home town of Adelaide; while Coates has worked vintages in Burgundy, the Rhône and Portugal. Stubbs is behind the assiduous fruit selection, from a small swag of trusted growers, and drives a less-is-more approach to vinification under Coates’ gaze. Reducing ‘wine miles’ and the winery’s carbon footprint is at the forefront of the brand’s ethos. Natural-yeast fermentations are de rigueur and nothing is fined or filtered here. -NED GOODWIN MW
