L'Anima Wines

Michael Williams believes that wine represents an intersection of history, geography, food, culture and place. It’s the philosophy behind L’Anima, which he established in McLaren Vale in ’23. Italian for “the soul”, L’Anima’s focus is wines made from climate-apt varieties with minimal inputs and with food in mind. The dry wines in his intentionally small range blend multiple grapes – fiano, vermentino and muscat blanc, for example, or nero d’Avola and grenache – and there’s also a sweet wine made in the passito method from sun-dried grapes. -ANNA WEBSTER
