Our Review
The Pressing Matters vineyard was established in ’02, just outside Richmond in the Coal River Valley, by Greg and Michelle Melick, with the first vintage in ’06. In ’19, a partnership with Anthony Hall led to the acquisition of the neighbouring Morningside vineyard as well as significant investment in a new winery and tasting room. In ’25, the Melicks sold their final share of the business to the Fogarty Wine Group, a move which saw long-term winemaker Samantha Connew replaced by Liam McElhinney and winemaking return to Tas Vintners, alongside OSSA, Lowestoft and the others in the group’s local portfolio. Pinot noir and riesling remain at the core of the range. -ANNA WEBSTER
