Our Review
Lethbridge was founded by scientists Ray Nadeson, Maree Collis and Adrian Thomas. In Ray’s words, ‘Our belief is that the best wines express the unique character of special places.’ As well as understanding the importance of terroir, the partners have built a unique strawbale winery, designed to recreate the controlled environment of cellars and caves in Europe. Winemaking is no less ecological: hand-picking, indigenous-yeast fermentation, small open fermenters, pigeage (foot-stomping) and minimal handling of the wines throughout the maturation process are all part and parcel of the highly successful Lethbridge approach. Ray also has a distinctive approach to full-blown chardonnay and pinot noir. -JAMES HALLIDAY

Cellar Door
Information
Lethbridge has two cellar doors in the Geelong Wine Region, one at the ‘mother ship’ and winery at 74 Burrows Road, Lethbridge, and another at their Bellarine site, Lethbridge @Hatrock at 2330 Portarlington Road, Bellarine. Both offer a unique and intimate experience as you sample the wines and engage with a wine expert; it could be Maree or Ray, one of their winemaking team or wine-passionate cellar-door crew, but you can be assured of great wine and conversation. The goal is that everyone leaves having learnt something new about wine. Cheese and charcuterie platters are available. Please check our website for up-to-date opening hours and details.
