Our Review
Noorilim Estate is a particularly historic property. Built in 1879, the homestead was one of the showpieces of Vic at the time of the 1888 Centennial Exhibition in Melbourne. It thereafter fell into disrepair, but has been restored to its former glory by Rod and Carolyn Menzies. They have also planted a substantial vineyard, with 11.5ha of shiraz, 5.8ha of merlot, 5.3ha of chardonnay, 4.2ha of cabernet sauvignon and 4ha of viognier. While the lion's share of the grapes are sold, there is significant production of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cabernet Merlot and Viognier. This business is no longer operating. -JAMES HALLIDAY
