Punt Road

Victoria | Yarra Valley

Our Review

Punt Road is owned by the Napoleone family, 3rd-generation fruit growers in the Yarra Valley. Their vineyard in Coldstream is one of the most historic sites in Victoria, first planted to vines by Swiss immigrant Hubert De Castella in 1860. The Napoleone Vineyard was established on the property in 1987. Tim Shand, chief winemaker since ’14, established a reputation for the consistent quality of all the Punt Road wines. Jarrod Johnson takes over the winemaking reins from the ’23 vintage. The 2 main ranges are Punt Road and Airlie Bank, plus a small production of single-vineyard ‘Block’ wines, only available at the cellar door and made only in the best vintages. -JAMES HALLIDAY
