Our Review
Initially the venture of James Lance (Punch) and Brian Conway (Izway Wines), Trapeze took a hiatus from ’16, successfully rebooting in ’21 with some adjustments to the team. At James’ departure, Malcom Wiley stepped in as business partner and the duo have plans to expand the brand in ’25 with a new winery and cellar door in Steels Creek on the Six J’s Estate site (from where the fruit is sourced and Malcolm is viticulturist). Small quantities of pinot noir, gamay and chardonnay are produced, and the outcome is one of quality and value. A label to keep tabs on. -KATRINA BUTLER
