Our Review
Martin Buck, together with daughter Rienne, purchased an old dairy farm in 1996, and with advice from experienced local viticulturist, Phil Gumbrell, came up with a three-stage planting program. Five hectares of shiraz and semillon were planted in 1997; 7.5ha of merlot and cabernet sauvignon in 98; and in 2002 a further 3.5-ha, northwest-facing paddock was partially planted with viognier on a trial basis, the planting extended in 05 after a successful outcome. Nor have they rested there; in 2004 1.85ha of merlot and cabernet sauvignon were grafted over to sauvignon blanc, and a small amount of tempranillo planted. They have also formed a highly successful winemaking team, the wines made at the small winery established on the property. Exports to Singapore. -JAMES HALLIDAY
